Hostal Josefina-Gran Via - Madrid

The location of the hostel was marvellous, close to a large pedestrianized public square. Our room was exceptionally clean and had a lovely view of the courtyard. - the staff at the hostel was really kind and offered a fast check-in and a late check-out.

the room was neat and well-equipped and the views on the 10th floor were lovely.

A nice place for short-time staying. The price/quality ratio's quite fair.

Had trouble communicating with the staff as none of them speaks English.

The staff members are friendly, services are great, and the location is superb, with many excellent restaurants and attractions nearby, plus you can enjoy breakfast on the rooftop.

The location was perfect, room was clean and functional, Wi-Fi available and priced reasonable for Madrid.

As others have said, the staff does not speak English. There is a tourist office right outside of the hotel that can explain the city, but inside of the hostal you will need some basic Spanish to communicate.

Just 30 m to Metro Callao and 200 m to Puerto del Sol. Really in the middle of Madrid. A lot of restaurangs and coffeeshop around the Hotel do it easy to find some place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The hotelstuff just speak spanish. Not so easy to understand if you want to ask something. The elevators was old and doesn´t work whole time. But it was ok to take the stairs to the eight ground. The hotel adress at Gran Via makes a lot of noise at the night and evening. Take something to your ears if you have hard to sleep in noise! The securitybox at the room cost 1 Euro everytime you open it.

Friendly staff who gave us helpful tips. Breakfast was delicious and served right in the restaurant! 🥐

It was located in the centre of the city for travelling around.

Breakfast was meagre. Rooms could have done with some updating curtains not hanging properly on the rail.Very noisy room on the main Grand Via side.

the location was perfect - opposite the metro at Callao! The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a nice place to stay for a solo traveller.

the hostal was very noisy at the weekend - cleaning sounds and people coming and going! The room was smaller than I expected. The rate was too high in my opinion for such a small room.

The hostel was modern. the location was magnificent, next to a popular shopping area, city center, old town, bars, food outlets. - the staff was incredibly nice. - the rooftop bar was a delightful surprise.

Everything was modern during 3 days, thoroughly enjoyed its perfect location next to great restaurants and cafes, bars food outlets and Gran Via-the middle of a buzzing upmarket shopping area with lots of good restuarants, theatres, big brand shops as well as food stores and local cafes...

The hostel is located in an excellent spot near the mainline shops on Gran Via, which is a vibrant upmarket shopping area with plenty of good restaurants, theaters, big brand shops, food stores. the twin room I stayed in was modern and the bed was comfortable. - the bathroom was clean and well-maintained.

Really good value for money, we were surprised at the high quality of the room for the amount we paid.friendly staff and very helpful. Hotel very clean and comfortable with an excellent location.
